Writer’s Block Tip

by Alice Anderson

When you sit down to write, visualize your ultimate goal in your head.

If your goal is to make enough money to support yourself, imagine that you’re at home, at your computer, answering only to your editor and agent.

Maybe you want to be able to hire a maid… so in your mind she walks by with the broom and dust pan. :)

Perhaps you want to make money so you can buy a new home or a new car. envision that new home or new car.

Maybe you want stacks of books with your name on it and readers showering you with attention. So you see yourself at a booksigning table surrounded with books and a line out the door.

New York Times Bestseller list, you say? Think of your name in black and white… right there above Nora’s.

Whatever your goal, concentrate on the finished product. Now, the only way to get there is to write something. Get to it.
