I’m sure you’ve heard all the hype and excitement (no, not about New Moon) about the iPad. It’s Apple’s latest product and it looks like a giant iPhone. For years, those of us in the ebook industry have been wondering, waiting, hoping (and in general, crossing our fingers) that someone like Apple would sit up, take notice, and bring ebooks to the masses.

Then there was Kindle.

And then the Nook (which I still haven’t been able to get my greedy little paws on.)

And now…there’s the iPad. And while it’s still waiting in the wings there’s been some discussion about whether or not the iPad will allow romance (and more importantly, erotic romance…it is a big seller, you know) in the iPad store.

As noted over here, the iPhone app store has gone back and forth about what’s acceptible content for the iPhone. Is PG rated fine? R? X? Wait, only G? Will Apple make up their mind? And where will the chips land? At this point it’s only a waiting game.
