I’m pretty sure I came out of the womb loving animals. In my life I’ve been guardian to 4 dogs, 3.2 cats, 11 fish, 2 parakeets, 2 bunnies, and 1 horse. That doesn’t include all the ones I’ve tended and tried to adopt, of course. The way I see it, humans are at the top of the food chain and therefore, it’s our responsibility to protect those who cannot, for whatever reason, protect themselves. That’s why I support the ASPCA.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has been around for almost 150 years. They dedicate endless man hours to fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. They rescue animals, provide local support to shelters and also work with law makers to improve animal welfare laws. Since I cannot personally adopt each and every animal in need, supporting the ASPCA is the next best thing.
